It's a replica of a Remington Derringer. It was a common "hideout" gun with gamblers in the Old West. In the 60's TV show The Wild, Wild West the hero, played by actor Robert Conrad, carried one up his sleeve, and another, disassembled, in his boot heels.
I had one just like it 45 years ago, it was a toy pistol, but the action opened, and there were 2 bullets that you could insert caps in. It was as I recall pot metal, not sure I'd want to fire real bullets out of it
