Latest pictures

Here is a picture of the girls.

On the left we have Miss-recently-turned-10 and on the right we have Miss-recently-turned-12.

Life has been busy, what with birthdays and getting things organised for the new schools next year.  Miss 10 is moving to the local public school (walking distance) and Miss 12 starts High School at a local Catholic school.  This isn't until February next year (school year runs Feb to Dec here), but for Miss 12 we have had three interviews and a mountain of paperwork and a uniform fitting appointment.  Miss 10's enrollment was only one form and a quick school tour (non-compulsory) - we do still have to visit the uniform shop for her sometime before the end of the year.

Work has also been keeping me busy and I've got a quick trip to Brisbane this coming week (fly out of Perth on Sunday, fly back in on Tuesday night).

Yes, getting ready for school is a lot of work, but it will pay off for them in the long run. Doing anything fun over the summer?

Well, we've got the October school holidays to get through first (start on the 27th Sept).

The girls will spend the first week at the farm with Shooting Buddy. Then in the second week Miss 10 has another squash tournament and Miss 12 is spending a day or two with a local seamstress learning to sew a dress.

Then they want to go to the movies and Scitech. And Miss 12 is taking a special activity patrol to an airport for a tour. Then she has a fire running competition on. Miss 10 is planning on doing a scavenger hunt on horse-back!

Then once we're through these holidays we'll start planning for the summer.

Two lovely faces!

I never would have thought that the school year runs February to December, but I suppose that makes pure sense. Why would you folks have vacation in the winter? And I think it would be somewhat lovely to have Christmas near the start of the long school vacation!

Hi Suldog & Jim, thanks for stopping by.

I'm looking forward to the holidays, even though I'm going to be working most of it.

Will take some time off in the long holidays to do some things with the girls.
