Yesterday afternoon Miss 9, with the help of a friend, cooked a dinner party for us ...
Here's the menu:
And this is what the table looked like with all the food laid out. Miss 9 is in the back of the photo:
The food was excellent. Even Miss 7 tried EVERYTHING and especially loved the Paprika Chicken.
I really liked the Bread Sauce with the vegetables (and everything else), and I'm not a fan of sauces.
Dessert was fantasic - must get her to make those tartletts again! I'll post the recipe on my blog too when I get it off the chef.
Unfortunately, after a morning of Little Athletics, an afternoon of cooking - Miss 9 was actually too tired to eat much :(

Firstly How Miss 9 has grown in 15 or 16 months since I saw her last .. and You must be Oh so proud of Her efforts ..it looks amazing yumo wish I had of been there it all sounds really deliouse .. tell Her well done
She looks proud as punch! Good for her! It's great she's learning to cook at a young age. Too many of my daughter's friends think that cooking is something that Mom and Dad do.
Congrats to her! I know she made you proud! Does she know she's gonna get to cook a couple of nights a week yet :-)
Well done, to Miss 9. The menu sounds splendid. Preparing a special meal is one of the most loving things a person can do for others, and it sounds like she's starting early on this warm, wonderful art of cooking. Congratulations to her, and I'm a little envious!
Not bad. May I ask what 'bread sauce' is?
Thanks for stopping by guys.
Berys you wouldn't believe how much they've grown up - maturity and size-wise.
DB kid's cooking is a bit of a fad at the moment - with Junior Masterchef on TV currently. I think it's great that kids are taking an interest in preparing food rather than just buying take-aways.
Jim she wants to cook from scratch every night - but unfortunately my work schedule doesn't allow for that (nor her after-school activities).
phlegmy thanks for that. She is very proud (and rightly so) of her efforts.
Suldog this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bread_sauce ... i'm not exactly sure what went into this particular version, but it was delicious.
Julie- Bet she loses that 'appetite' for cooking before long...LOL
That's fantastic! Congratulations to her and her assistant chef!
I hope there were enough leftovers for Miss 9 to sample at her leisure!
