Bathurst storage facility packed with guns

From today's news:

Bathurst storage facility packed with guns

DETECTIVES in the state's Central West have uncovered a major stash of firearms and ammunition during raids at Bathurst.

Police executed a search warrant at a storage facility on Corporation Avenue at Bathurst yesterday.

Inside a secure storage shed, officers allegedly found a .22 calibre semi-automatic pistol; Bruno bolt-action .223 calibre long arm with scope; lever-action .22 calibre rifle; black assault-style, pump-action shotgun; black assault-style, semi-automatic shotgun; and a can of capsicum spray.

They also seized thousands of rounds of ammunition and various gun parts – including gun barrels, stocks and trigger mechanisms; SKS magazines; and silencers.

Meanwhile, police located and seized a body armour vest, ammunition, prohibited drugs and drug paraphernalia during a subsequent search of a house at Llanarth, on Bathurst’s northern outskirts.

Local detectives are continuing their inquiries to identify and locate the owner of the weaponry.

Anyone with information that might assist investigators with their inquiries is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.

Five guns! ... Five guns apparently is now considered a "major stash of firearms"!

The italics in the article are mine. I put them in where I considered emotive rather than factual language was used.

Spot on, Julie.

Emotive language is one of the main tactics used in propaganda - in this case the propaganda against gun ownership.

In most of my conversations with people here in Australia, I find that so many are anti gun. We've well and truly been had here in Australia.

The yanks have it right when it comes to the right to bear arms.

I've misplaced more ammo than that.

Sheesh.
News media always reports numbers greater than "two", to be an arsenal.

I've got more guns that in my safe, and more ammo than that in my truck.

Sigh... And yeah, I've shot more than that in a weekend!

From the headline I thought that maybe they had found thousands of firearms. I was really disappointed to find that it was four rifles and a .22 pistol. Ooooh those evil black assault style weapons. I hope none of the police fainted in fright.

They should definitely stay away from my house, I have about 5,000 rounds of .22LR, not to mention the "real" ammunition.
